The Island itself is completely uncommercialised. So there is nowhere to hire watersports equipment or boats. The nearest outlets are Surf the Earth for surf, skate, and kayak rentals on the mainland just over the causeway and Murrells Inlet 10 minutes north for boats and fishing.

There you can book charters for whatever kind of fishing trip you want or just hire a boat and cruise the waterways.

Afterwards there is a great choice of places to eat particularly if you like seafood. Murrells Inlet is known as the "Seafood Capital of South Carolina." And there are some great bars on the waterway.
